Officer Penniman On 1/30/22 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop due to suspicion that the operator, Felicia Woodruff, had an instate warrant, and was operating her vehicle with a criminally suspended license. The operator was confirmed to be Woodruff. Woodruff was placed under arrest due to her warrant, operating on a criminally suspended license, and contempt of court. Woodruff was issued two citations to appear at Windham County Superior Court: one for 1/31/22 at 1230 for her warrant, and one for 2/22/22 at 0830 hrs for the other charges. Elizabeth Kovatch, 38, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Cable On 1/26/2022 at approximately 5:26 AM Brattleboro Police, Rescue Inc and Brattleboro Fire Department responded to a report of a subject with a stab wound at a Putney Road residence. Investigation led to the arrest of Elizabeth M Kovatch who had assaulted her domestic partner with a cutting instrument. The male victim was treated for non-lifethreatening injuries on the scene. Kovatch was ordered to be held without bail and is to be seen in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 1/27/2022 at 1 PM to answer to the charge of 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. Officer Penniman On 1/22/22 Brattleboro Police observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot shared by both a hotel and a business on Canal St. Investigation revealed that the passenger in the vehicle, Meghan Bishop, was in possession of, and had transported into the State of VT, a felony amount of Fentanyl, along with a misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine. Bishop was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Bishop was processed, and released on a citation. Bishop will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/22/22 to answer her charges. Officer Penniman On 1/20/22 Brattleboro Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on I91S near exit 3 due to several motor vehicle violations. The operator, later identified as Carl Warner, failed to stop for Brattleboro Police. Due to safety concerns, Brattleboro Police terminated their attempt to stop the vehicle, and issued a Be On The Lookout. Shortly afterwards, Massachusetts State Police were able to stop the vehicle. Warner was placed under arrest by Massachusetts State Police for failing to stop for them. Warner later returned to the Brattleboro Police Department, where he was processed, and issued a citation for Attempt to Elude, along with several Vermont Civil Violation Complaints (Tickets). Warner will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/22/22. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Det. Lynde On August 10, 2021 the Brattleboro Police were advised of a reported sexual assault that had occurred in Bellows Falls. This case was received through the Southeastern Unit for Special Investigations. A juvenile reported she was sexual assaulted by an adult identified as Andrew Hayes. After an investigation took place Hayes was arrested on January 26, 2022. Hayes was ordered held on $10,000 bail until he could be seen in court on January 27, 2022. Officer Washburn On 01/23/22 at approximately 2:05pm, Brattleboro Police received a report that Misbah Abdul-Kareem was in a parking lot on Canal Street in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. Abdul- Kareem was located on Canal Street, and it was confirmed that he was the subject of active court ordered conditions of release prohibiting him from being in the Town of Brattleboro, with the exception of verified appointments. It was verified that Abdul- Kareem was in violation and he was arrested, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. He was issued a citation, ordering him to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 02/22/22. Sgt. Hamilton On October 17 2021 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department took a report of a bad check being passed by Benjamin Stocker. Subsequent investigation led to Stocker being issued a citation for Home Improvement Fraud. Stocker is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on March 29, 2022 to face the charge. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro Police Department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Sydney Clark-Adams, 26, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 1/20/22 Brattleboro Police located Sydney Clark Adams in a residence in Morningside Commons. Clark-Adams was placed under arrest for an active warrant, and for violating her conditions of release. Clark-Adams was held in custody due to the warrant, and issued a citation for contempt of court. Clark-Adams will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 1/25/22 to answer her charge. Snow and ice will be removed from the streets in the downtown area this evening. Parked vehicles in the downtown district must be removed by 11:00pm or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. If vehicles are going to remain in Town overnight they should park in the Brattleboro Transportation Center. If you use the Transportation Center, do not park in a Reserved Permit space without a permit.
