Poplawski, Nicholas, D. 32 of Vernon, VT OFFICER KERYLOW On 02/16/2018 Brattleboro Police responded to the Vermont Superior Court on Putney Road for a report of Nicholas D. Poplawski making threats of blowing up the building. Upon arrival, officers met with Poplawski. After speaking with Court Officers it was determined that Poplawski caused a disturbance inside the building and threatened to blow up the building. Poplawski was placed under arrest and was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Poplawski was released with Conditons of Release and a citation to appear in court on 03/27/2018 to answer the charges. Ellis, Christopher. 48 Year Old Male from Jacksonville, VT.
Officer Penniman On 2/15/18 Christopher Ellis turned himself in to the Brattleboro Police Department on an outstanding warrant. This warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on 1/28/18 where Officers responded to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and spoke with a female who sustained injuries from an incident involving a motor vehicle and an attempted robbery. Based upon the victim’s statements along with subsequent investigation, a warrant was requested for Ellis’s arrest. A warrant was issued for Ellis’s arrest on 2/12/18, and social media was utilized on 2/15/18. The warrant for Ellis’s arrest included the charges of Aggravated Assault with a weapon, Assault and Robbery with Injury, Leaving the scene of a Crash with Serious Injury, and Reckless endangerment. O’Brien, Jeffrey, M 48, of Brattleboro
OFFICER WILSON On 2/14/2018, Brattleboro Officers responded to a residence on Cotton Mill Hill for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim who stated that she was kicked in the face by her ex-boyfriend. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Jeffrey M O’Brien 48 of Brattleboro. O’Brien was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. He was later ordered released on Conditions and issued a Citation ordering him to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 2/15/18 to answer to the charge. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. February 15, 2018

Richard G. Brown, 46, of Brattleboro, VT Officer Wilson On 2/05/2018, Brattleboro Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. Richard G Brown 46, of Brattleboro was found to be the operator. While speaking with Brown, Officers observed him throw an object under his vehicle. The item was retrieved and later tested positive for crack cocaine. Subsequent investigation revealed Brown to be Criminally Suspended and to be in Violation of Court ordered Conditions. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to Brattleboro Police Department where he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was later ordred released on Conditions and issued a Citation ordering him to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 3/27/2018 to answer to the charges. Fuquay, Kathleen 46, of Brattleboro
OFFICER WILSON On 1/25/2018, Brattleboro Officers observed a vehicle traveling north on Main Street with defective equipment. Officers initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the operator Kathleen Fuquay 46, of Brattleboro. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle Officers became suspicious and requested K9 assistance from Vermont State Police. VSP K9 arrived on scene and the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotic odors coming from the interior of the vehicle. A warrant was executed and a search of the vehicle produced heroin and crack cocaine. Fuquay was later arrested and charged with Possession of heroin and crack cocaine. Fuquay was later ordered released by a Judge. She was released on a Citation ordering her to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 3/27/2018 to answer to the charges. OFFICER LYNDE On February 9, 2018 while on patrol Brattleboro Police stopped a vehicle on Elliot Street for a motor vehicle infraction. During the stop police knew the passenger of the vehicle as Walter Swift and knew he had court ordered conditions that state a 24 hour curfew. Swift was taken into custody and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and released on citation to appear in court on February 13th. Date: Tuesday, February 6, 2018
The Brattleboro Police Department would like to remind everyone to drive safely in the coming snow. Reduce your speed and watch for working plow trucks as you travel about the area. Intersections and side streets will be especially difficult, so use extra caution. |
