Snow and ice will be removed from the streets in the downtown area this evening. Parked vehicles in the downtown district must be removed by 11:00pm or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. If vehicles are going to remain in Town overnight they should park in the Brattleboro Transportation Center. If you use the Transportation Center, do not park in a Reserved Permit space without a permit. Pay and Display is in effect after 9:00 a.m. Contact the Brattleboro Police Department at 257-7950 for any questions.

Lt. Petlock On 02/12/22 at approximately 8:43pm, Brattleboro Police responded to a location on South Main Street for a reported trespassing complaint involving a female that was refusing to leave the property. Upon arrival, Officers made numerous attempts to persuade the female, identified as Jane A. Read to leave however she refused. Read was subsequently arrested, and provided a ride to another location where she was released with a citation to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 03/22/22. Officer Penniman On 2/12/22 Brattleboro Police were flagged down by an employee of a store on Canal St. The employee stated a male who was not welcome in the store had been in the store, and caused a disturbance. The employee gave a description of the male, and advised that the male went to another business across the street. Police made contact with the male, who was identified as Jude Mischke. Mischke was found to have violated court ordered conditions of release, trespassed, and stole from a business. Mischke was issued a citation for the above charges, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/22/22 to answer his charges. Lt. Petlock On 02/09/22 at approximately 6:00am, Brattleboro Police received a report of a subject violating a trespass order at a business on Canal Street. The subject, identified as Misbah Abdul-Kareem was located nearby. Investigation revealed that Abdul-Kareem was in violation of his Court ordered conditions of release which prohibit him from being in Brattleboro, with the exception of verified exceptions for appointments. It was also determined that he had been in violation of a curfew condition set by the Court, after investigation revealed that he had been present on Marlboro Avenue earlier in the morning. Abdul-Kareem was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 02/22/22. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Bobby Ray Smith, 51, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Washburn On February 8, 2022 Officers from the Brattleboro Police were assigned a vandalism complaint at a residence on South St. in Brattleboro. After an investigation it was determined that Bobby Ray Smith Jr., age 51 of Brattleboro committed the offense of Unlawful Mischief. Smith was issued a citation to appear at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on March 22, 2022 at 8:00am. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Lauren Donovan, 41, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Washburn On February 5, 2022 at approximately 7:03am Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to a Hotel on Canal St. for citizen dispute. Officers arrived and after an investigation it was determined that Lauren Donovan age 41 of Brattleboro committed the offense of Unlawful Trespass. Donovan was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Donovan was issued conditions of release and realeased on a citation to appear at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on February 7, 2022 at 1:00pm. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Leonard Kaleta, 36, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Eaton On 1/30/22, Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Grove St. for a report that a resident returned home to find Leonard Kaleta inside their apartment, who then fled. Kaleta was located at his residence. He was subsequently issued a citation to appear in court at a later date for unlawful trespass. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Meghan Baldinelli, 27, of Winchester, NH
Sgt. Eaton On 1/30/22, Brattleboro Police took a theft report from an acquaintance of Meghan E. Baldinelli. They told police that Baldinelli had stolen a phone from their residence on South Main Street after she stayed there with them for a short period of time. Baldinelli was located in New Hampshire where she was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date for Grand Larceny. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Kyle Hamilton, 22, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Hamilton On January 29 2022 at approximately 0120 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Belmont Avenue for a disorderly complaint. Staff reported that Kyle Hamilton, who had been trespassed from the business, was there causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers found a physical fight taking place between staff and Hamilton. Hamilton was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Trespass. No one sought medical treatment as a result of this incident. Hamilton was later released with a citation, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on February 22 at 0800 hours to face the charges.
