Throughout the month of May, the Brattleboro Police Department will be participating in a high visibility traffic enforcement campaign, sponsored by the Vermont Governor's Highway Safety Program. Officers will be conducting extra traffic patrols, with the goal of reducing crashes by enforcing occupant protection laws and other violations. Motorists are reminded to use proper safety restraints and to use care while traveling on roadways. This is also a reminder that the use of hand-held electronic devices while driving is prohibited in the State of Vermont.

Officer Penniman On 5/22/18 Brattleboro Police were conducting routine traffic patrol on Rt 30. Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit, and executed a motor vehicle stop. Investigation determined that the operator, Joseph Brittain, a 25 Year Old Male from Brattleboro, had a criminally suspended license. Brittain was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and released on a citation. Brittain will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/26/18 to answer his charge. McNary, William. D. 22 Year Old Male from Brattleboro.
Officer Penniman On 5/22/18 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt 9 for several vehicle equipment infactions. The operator, William D. McNary, a 22 Year Old Male from Brattleboro, had a criminally suspended license. McNary was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Officer Penniman On 5/20/18 Brattleboro Police conducted a traffic stop due to a moving violation. Upon speaking with the operator and occupants, Police located a criminal amount of marijuana, along with marijuana packaged for sale. Police also located cash, and a substance packaged for sale mimicking cocaine. Police also located a realistic CO2 pellet gun. The juvenile passenger was charged with possession of a controlled substance, intent to distribute said controlled substance, intent to distribute a non-controlled substance as a controlled substance, and use of a firearm during a drug transaction. The juvenile was issued a citation to appear on 6/7/18 at Windham County Superior Court: Family division. The operator faces no criminal charges Tess Winterling, 33, of Guilford VT
Officer Hamilton On May 18 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Rt. 30 and stopped a vehicle driving erratically. Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, Tess Winterling, was intoxicated. Winterling was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, and was later released with a citation. Winterling will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on June 19 to face the charge. Tonya Camolli, 34, of Brattleboro
Officer Hamilton On May 17 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Pleasant St. for a citizen dispute. Subsequent investigation revealed that Tonya Camolli was inside the residence in violation of a No Trespass Warning and active Conditions of Release, and further violated her Conditions of Release by contacting a man inside the house. Camolli was arrested and later released with a citation for Unlawful Trespass and Contempt of Court: Violation of Conditions. Camolli will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on May 29 to face the charge. Anthony Matias, 34, of Brattleboro
Officer Hamilton On May 16 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Canal St. when they stopped a motor vehicle for bearing license plates that were not assigned to it. Subsequent investigation revealed that the license of the operator, Anthony Matias, was criminally suspended. Matias was arrested for driving with a Criminally Suspended License, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on June 26 to face the charge. Timothy Wainwright, 41, of Brattleboro
Officer Hamilton On May 15 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department located Timothy Wainwright after a fight on Canal St. Wainwright had an active warrant out for his arrest. Wainwright was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was lodged in lieu of bail. Wainwright will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on May 16 to face the charge. Whitford, Daniel. 69 Year Old Male from Hadley, MA
Officer Penniman On 5/14/18 Brattleboro Police were called to an establishment on Putney Rd. The caller believed that a male, Daniel Whitford, a 69 Year Old Male from Hadley, MA, was intoxicated and had operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Upon arrival Police made contact with Whitford. It was determined that Whitford had in fact operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Whitford was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Whitford was lodged, and later released on a citation to appear at Windham County Superior Court on 5/29/18. SGT Petlock On 05/13/18 at approximately 10:58pm, Brattleboro Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Putney Road after observing several violations. Investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Nathan R. Fiset was impaired and his driver’s license was criminally suspended in Vermont. Addtionally, Fiset was the subject of an active arrest warrant. Fiset was arrested, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was lodged in lieu of $1000.00 bail related to the arrest warrant. He was issued a citation for the criminal charges, ordering him to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 05/29/18. |
