Walter Swift, 57, of Brattleboro
Officer Hamilton On May 2 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Elliot St. when they encountered Walter Swift, who was in violation of his Conditions of Release, which included a 24 hour curfew at his residence. Swift was issued a citation for Contempt of Court, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on June 19 to face the charge. Qadir N. Murray, 35, of Brattleboro
Officer Hamilton On May 2 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Canal St. when they came into contact with Qadir Murray. Murray had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. Officers arrested Murray and held him in lieu of bail. Murray will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on May 2 to face the charge. Nash, Lisa, G. 50 of Westminster, VT
Officer Kerylow On 04/26/2018 Brattleboro Police responded to Brattleboro Probation and Parole for a report of a female subject who had carried a firearm into the building. The female was later identified as Lisa G. Nash. Nash came to the Brattleboro Police Department at a later date and was issued a citation to appear in court on 06/19/2018 to answer the charge. Officer Vinton On 04/05/18 the Brattleboro Police responded to a local business on Canal Street for a report of fraud. Upon investigation it was determined that Sylvester P. Little, 45, of Brattleboro had commited the offense of disorderly conduct. Little was issued a citation to appear at Windham Superior Court on 05/29/18 to face the charge. Officer Penniman
On 5/5/18 at approximately 0845 hrs Brattleboro Police responded to Western Ave near the exit two on ramps. Vehicles involved: Mercury Montego. Operated by Lucy Stacey from Hinsdale, NH. Subaru WRX. Operated by Robert Mcnair from Bondville, VT. Investigation revealed that Stacey rear ended Mcnair. Both parties were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Western Ave west bound was closed for approximately 1 hr. Ellis, Tameeka. 21 Year Old Female from Brattleboro.
Ready, Avery. 19 Year Old Male from Brattleboro. Officer Penniman On 5/3/18 Brattleboro Police responded to an apartment complex on Canal St for a report of a fight between two individuals. Upon arrival Police encountered Tameeka Ellis, a 21 Year Old Female from Brattleboro, and Avery Ready, a 19 Year Old Male from Brattleboro. Based upon witness statements and observations while on scene, it was determined that both parties acted in a disorderly manner, and caused excessive noise in the night time. Both parties were placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. They were both later released on citations and conditions of release. Both will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/19/18 to answer their charges. Morse, Meagan, L. 31 of Bennington, VT
Officer Kerylow On 04/26/2018 Brattleboro Police were driving down Main Street when a female subject was observed yelling at two other individuals on the sidewalk. The female subject was identified as Meagan L. Morse. After investigation it was determined that Morse was caught stealing from inside a business on Main Street and the individuals she was yelling at were the owners. Morse was issued a citation to appear in court on 05/29/2018 to answer the charge. Chief Michael Fitzgerald On 5/4/18 at approximately 9:00pm four Brattleboro police officers located and confronted a suspect wanted for multiple armed robberies. While attempting to contact the suspect he fled from police. He was located a short time later and while attempting to arrest him, three Brattleboro officers fired weapons at the suspect. The suspect was injured and is currently being treated at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Vermont State Police is investigating this shooting. This is the standard practice of BPD in order to increase the independence of the investigation and insure a fair and impartial investigation occurs. BPD command staff is in frequent and ongoing communication with VSP commanders in order to facilitate and assist with this effort. No BPD officers were seriously injured during the incident. The three officers that fired their weapons have been placed on paid administrative leave. This standard procedure exists in order to allow those officers to manage and work through the stress that is involved with such an incident and to facilitate their mental and physical health. It also allows for the investigation to move forward in an efficient manner. The suspect, preliminarily identified as Mark Triolo, 46, was the only occupant of the vehicle and at this point, the only suspect. He is currently in police custody and their is no reason to think there is any greater than normal concern for public safety. The chief extends his gratitude to the Brattleboro Fire Department, Rescue Inc, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Vermont State Police, and the Windham County Sheriff's Department for their assistance with the incident. Office Penniman On the morning of 5/2/18, The Brattleboro Police were monitoring traffic on Rt 30 in Brattleboro, VT. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle being operated by Laura Kwapien, a 57 Year Old Female from Sunderland, MA, for excessive speed. Kwapien was issued a citation, and released on scene. She will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/19/18 to answer her charge. |
