Thomas Sorensen. 49 years old, of Brattleboro VT
On Friday July 27, 2018 at approximately 0417 hours, Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Oak Street for a family fight. Subsequent investigation showed Thomas Sorensen struck a female in the residence. Thomas Sorensen was arrested for Domestic Assault and later released on a citation to appear at Windham Superior Court on 7/30/18 at 1230 hours.
Cynthia R. Radcliffe Age: 34 Residence: Brattleboro, VT
On 07/26/18 at approximately 7:32pm, Brattleboro Police located Cynthia R. Radcliffe on the top level of the Brattleboro Transportation Center. Investigation revealed that Radcliffe had been previously issued a trespass notice prohibiting her from being on the property. Radcliffe was arrested, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. She was later released, with a citation ordering her to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 09/11/18.
Thomas J. Stafford, 40, of NH
On 7/26/18 Brattleboro Officers responded to a motel on Putney Rd. regarding drug paraphernalia left in a room. Officers contacted Thomas J. Stafford, the registered guest. Stafford was arrested on a warrant, and was in possession of 453 bags of suspected heroin. Stafford will appear in court on 7/31/18 to face the charges.
On July 25 2018 at approximately 1600 hours the Brattleboro Police Department, Brattleboro Fire Department, and Rescue Inc., responded to assist the Chesterfield, NH Fire Department with a house fire. Putney Rd. was closed at the rotary and Route 9 was closed, both for approximately two hours, in order to facilitate emergency efforts.
Suzanne McNeary. 49 Year Old Female From Brattleboro.
On 7/24/18 Brattleboro Police, Fire, and Rescue Inc responded to Highland St for a single car motor vehicle crash. The vehicle had left the roadway, and was on an embankment. Highland St. was shut down for approximately 1.5 hrs.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, Suzanne McNeary, a 49 year old female from Brattleboro was under the influence of alcohol while operating the vehicle.
McNeary was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was processed, and released on a citation. McNeary will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/7/18 to answer her charge.
Only minor injuries occurred as a result of the crash.
On July 24 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Bridge St. for a report of a suspicious package left in the area. When officers arrived they blocked off the area, which remained closed off for approximately three hours. With the help of the Brattleboro Fire Department and Vermont State Police the package was determined to not be dangerous. The package was properly disposed of and the area was re-opened.
Larceny from the person, Credit Card Fraud, Illegal Possession of Credit Card, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Police Officer
Jr Douglas, James, A. 28 of Brattleboro
On 07/23/2018 Brattleboro Police met with a female subject on High Street regarding a theft of her purse. The female reported she was walking on Green Street when a male subject came up from behind her and grabbed onto her purse which was tucked under her left arm. The female reported there was a struggle with the male and the male ripped the purse from her possession. As the male was running away, he fell and dropped the purse causing her wallet to fall onto the ground. The male then took her wallet and continued running. The description of the male that was provided matched the description of James A. Douglas Jr.
During investigation officers were able to determine that one of the female’s debit cards was used shortly after the theft at a business on Canal Street. The employee at the business reported that Douglas had used the card to purchase cigarettes.
Officers were able to locate Douglas at a public building on South Main Street. When Douglas was taken into custody he resisited arrest and assaulted a police officer.
Douglas was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and lodged. Douglas was issued Conditions of Release, a citation to appear in court on 07/24/2018 and was held in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
Jandris-Hudson, Melanie. 42 Year Old Female from Brattleboro
On 7/21/18 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main St.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, Melanie L. Jandris-Hudson, a 42 Year Old Female from Brattleboro, was operating the vehicle with a criminally suspended license.
Jandris-Hudson was issued a citation for DLS. Jandris-Hudson will appear in court on 8/28/18 to answer her charge.
McCall, Melvin, H. 39, Brattleboro
On 07/20/18 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Brattleboro Police responded to a parking lot for a report of a male that was laying down near a pay and display location. Upon investigation, it was determined that Melvin H. McCall, 39, of Brattleboro was violating a No Trespass Order. McCall was arrested and transported to the Police Department for this violation. McCall will appear at Windham Superior Court on 08/28/18 to face the charge.
Van-Christian Schryver, 36, of Brattleboro
On July 22 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department encountered Van-Christian Schryver while on patrol on Elliot St. Schryver had an outstanding warrant in Vermont for Aggravated Assault, and an outstanding extraditable warrant from Connecticut for a probation violation stemming from an Attempted Assault 1st degree/ serious physical injury, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree. Schryver will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on July 23 to face the underlying charges.
