Kenneth Ganem, 65, of Brattleboro, VT

On July 27, 2021 at approximately 3:13pm. the Brattleboro Police were dispatched to the area of the Whetstone walkway for an assault that had just occurred. Officers arrived and after an investigation it was determined Kenneth Ganem age 65 of Brattleboro committed the offenses of Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Violation of Conditions of release. Ganem was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Ganem was ordered held on $200.00. and was cited to appear at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 28, 2021 at 12:30pm.

Prostitution

Mark Ripa, 59, of Brattleboro, VT

On 7/13/21 Brattleboro Police responded to a Motel on Putney Rd. for a reported disturbance.

Investigaiton revealed that Mark Ripa propositioned and paid a female in hopes for sex; instigating an argument.

Ripa was issued a citation for Soliciting Prostitution. Ripa will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/13/21 to answer his charge.

unlawful mischief disorderly conduct

Anastasia King, 22, of Brattleboro, VT

Det. Lynde

On July 6, 2021 Brattleboro Police responded to John Seitz Drive for a vandalism complaint.  When police arrived they found a female had smashed the windshield of a vehicle.  The female was later identified as Anastasia King.  On July 14, 2021 police located and arrested King for the incident.  King was issued a citation to appear in court on August 13, 2021.

Search Warrant (Updated)

Darlene Derby, 49, of Brattleboro, VT

On 7/16/21 Brattleboro Police conducted a search warrant on a residence at an apartment complex on Putney Rd.

Police recovered a small amount of crack cocaine, along with approximately 12.2 ounces of a white powder substance suspected to be cocaine. Police also located a small amount of amphetamines.

The apartment owner, Darlene Derby, was subsequently placed under arrest for Trafficking Cocaine and possession of Amphetamines.

Derby was processed at the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was released on a citation and conditions of release. Derby will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 7/19/21 for arraignment.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information in regards to drug activity related to this apartment is encouraged to call the Brattleboro Police Department, and leave a message for Ofc. Penniman.

Search Warrant

On 7/16/21 Brattleboro Police conducted a search warrant on a residence at an apartment complex on Putney Rd.

Brattleboro Police seized approximately 347 grams, or 12.24 ounces of suspected cocaine from the residence.

This is an ongoing investigation, and police do have a suspect.

An updated press release will be released shortly.

Sexual Assault, Domestic Assault

Logan Fletcher, 22, of Guilford, VT

In January Brattleboro Police were notified of a sexual assault that had occurred in a motel on Canal Street in September of 2020.  After an investigation took place Brattleboro Police arrested Logan Fletcher on July 15, 2021.  Fletcher was released on a citation to appear in court on July 16, 2021

David Flood, 58, of Brookline, VT

Theodore Gray, 56, of Brattleboro, VT

On 7/2/21 Brattleboro Police responded to a parking lot on Putney Rd. for a report of a physical fight between two males.

Investigation revealed that David Flood and Theodore Gray had a physical altercation in a public parking lot after a road rage incident on Putney Rd.

​Neither individual sustained any serious injury, and both declined medical attention. Both were issued citations for Disorderly Conduct. Both will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/17/21 to answer their charge.

Kenneth Ganem, 65, of Brattleboro, VT

​On 06/28/21 at approximately 7:43pm, Brattleboro Police responded to a location on Walnut Street for a trespassing complaint. Investigation revealed that Kenneth Ganem acted in a threatening and disorderly manner by yelling and directing profanity at an employee.
 
Ganem was located, and issued a citation for the offense of Disorerly Conduct. He was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 08/03/21.

Trafficking Fentanyl

Christopher Burns, 51, of Fair Haven, VT

William Coleman, 25, of Winhall, VT

On 7/1/21 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on I91N for a motor vehicle violation.

Police, during the stop, developed probable cause that the occupants, Christopher Burns and William Coleman, were conducting illegal activity in relation to drugs.

A search of the car was conducted, and Officers located 360 bags of Fentanyl in a hidden compartment.

Both Burns and Coleman were placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There they were processed, and released on citations.

Burns and Coleman will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/17/21 to answer the charges of Trafficking Fentanyl, and Trafficking Fentanyl into the State.

Agg. Disorderly Conduct

Bruce LaChance, 57, of Brattleboro, VT

Officer Penniman

On 6/23/21 Bruce Lachance, a 57 year old male from Brattleboro, flagged down Police to report an assault. Lachance advised that a male had threatened him with a knife. He advised this took place at an apartment complex on Putney Rd.

Police spoke with witnesses and reviewed surveillance. After investigation, it was determined that Lachance had harassed the male, attempted to cause bodily harm to the male, and the male had brandished a weapon in self defense and had not caused any injuries with it.

Lachance was issued a citation for Aggravated Disorderly Conduct, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/17/21 to answer his charge.​
