Officer Hamilton On August 28 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on Frost St. when they encountered Melvin H. McCall. McCall had an outstanding warrant out for his arrested. McCall was arrested and held in lieu of bail, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 29 to face the underlying charge.

Possession of a non controlled substance with intent to distribute as a controlled substance8/30/2018 Johnson, Trent. W. 29 Year Old Male from Brattleboro
Offcier Penniman On 8/21/18 Brattleboro Police responded to the common area of an apartment complex on Oak St for a drug complaint. Upon arrival police located several individuals who with permission from one of the residents had set up a tent in the common area, and were residing in it. Trent Johnson, a 29 Year Old Male from Brattleboro was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine, however he claimed that it was not. Johnson was placed under arrest for suspicion of crack cocaine, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. At the department the suspected crack cocaine was examined, and it was determined that it was not crack cocaine, however a substance resembling crack cocaine. Investigation revealed that Johnson planned on either selling or trading the substance that resembled crack cocaine. Johnson was issued a citation for possession of a non controlled substance with intent to distribute as a controlled substance. Johnson will appear at the Windham County Superior Court on 11/2/18. Coombs, Addison W., 27 of Brattleboro VT
Officer MacDonald On August 15, 2018 Brattleboro Police observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Canal St. After a traffic stop was initiated, the operator of the vehicle was identified as Addison Coombs (4/1/91). Records indicated Coombs’ Operator’s License was under criminal suspension. Coombs was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Coombs was released with a citation ordering him to appear at the Windham County Superior Courthouse on 9/18/18 to answer to the charge. Salmon, Lance, J
Officer Emery On 08/30/18, the Brattleboro Police Department with the assistance of the Bennington, VT Police Department, arrested Lance J. Salmon, 32, of Bennington, VT on several counts of Home Improvement Fraud. The investigation stemmed from several complaints about Salmon, the owner of Topnotch Lawn Services, entering contracts and not fulfilling the contracts. Salmon will appear at Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division on 10/09/18 to answer to these charges. Lieutenant Adam Petlock
Through September 3rd, the Brattleboro Police Department will be participating in a high visibility traffic enforcement campaign, sponsored by the Vermont Governor's Highway Safety Program. Officers will be conducting extra traffic patrols, with the goal of reducing crashes (and resulting injuries) caused by impaired drivers. Additionally, During the week of August 27- September 3, the Brattleboro Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint within the town of Brattleboro. An aggressive effort will be made to identify impaired drivers on our highways. Officers will be also enforcing seatbelt, child restraint and other motor vehicle laws during this checkpoint. Corey L. Officer Hamilton On August 23 2018 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol on South Main St. when they encountered Corey L. Hastings. Hastings had an outstanding warrant out for her arrest. During the course of arrest Hastings was found to be in possession of cocaine. Hastings appeared in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 23 to face the charge underlying the warrant, and will appear on October 2 to face the charge of Possession of Cocaine. Officer Penniman On 8/18 Brattleboro Police were called to a residence on Green St for a report of vandalism. The caller reported that a male had broken an object, and glass was involved. While in route, Police received a medical call for a male with an injury. Police located the male, and through investigation determined that the injured male, Dylan M. Chambers, a 21 Year Old Male from Nevada, sustained the injuries during the vandalism. Chambers was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for medical treatment, and issued a citation for Unlawful Mischief. Chambers will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 9/18/18 to answer his charge. Chambers was not seriously injured Trent Johnson – 29 - Brattleboro
Officer Lynde On August 17, 2018 Brattleboro Police were called to a Main Street business for a trespassing complaint. When police arrived they found Trent Johnson had entered a business he had previously been trespassed from. Johnson was later located and issued a citation to appear in court on September 18, 2018. Officer Vinton On 07/03/18 at 3:30 p.m. the Brattleboro Police responded to a local business on Canal Street for a report of retail theft. Upon investigation, it was determined that Kevin M. Cameron, 53, of Brattleboro had commited the offense of retail theft and violated his trespass warning. Cameron was issued a citation to appear at Windham Superior Court on 09/11/18 to face the charges. Bobby Bethune, 18, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Vinton On 07/08/18 at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Brattleboro Police responded to a government building on South Main Street for a report of an assault. Upon investigation, it was determined that Bobby Bethune, 18, of New York had commited the offense of simple assault on a female by grabbing her and throwing her against a building. The vitim was not treated for any injuries. Bethune was later located and issued a citation for simple assault and will appear at Windham Superior Court on 09/11/18 to face the charge. |
