Officer Penniman On 8/23/21 at approximately 1700 hrs Brattleboro Police responded to the intersection of Estey St. and Organ St. for a report of an assault. Police contacted and interviewed the victim as to what had transpired. The victim stated that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, and that the male had stolen her phone. Police continued to speak with the victim, who recalled previous events of domestic abuse. The male, identified as Devon Wayans, was later located and placed under arrest. The male was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department, where he was lodged and held without bail. Wayans will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/24/21 at 1230 to answer to the following charges: Domestic Assault. 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault (X3) Interference with Access to Emergency Services. Grand Larceny Larceny from a Person. Stalking Criminal Threatening.

Destiney Jones, 29, of Brattleboro, VT Officer Cooke On August 13, 2021 officers from the Brattleboro Police Department were notified of a possible unlawful trespass that had occurred at a grocery store on Canal St. Ultimately Kelby Felumb, 32, of Brattleboro and Destiney Jones, 29, of Brattleboro were found to have violated a Trespass After Warning that had been previously issued to them. Both Felumb and Jones were issued citations to appear at the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on September 21, 2021 at 0800 hours to answer to the charge of Unlawful Trespass. Officer Penniman On 8/22/21 Brattleboro Police responded to a lodging establishment on Canal St. for a reported family fight. Upon arrival Police identified the involved parties, and observed the victim to need medical assistance. EMS was requested, and the female party was transported to the Hospital with serious, non life threatening injuries. It was determined that the male half; Jamie White, had caused serious bodily injury to his female partner. Furthermore, White lied about his identity, and caused damage to property that was not his. During the investigation, probable cause was developed that illegal drugs were in the room. Police executed a search warrant on the room to investigate the potential of illegal drugs in the room, and to gather further evidence for the crime of Domestic Assault. The search warrant yielded a felony amount of Fentanyl, prescription pills, and further evidence in regards to the Domestic Violence charge. White was ordered held in lieu of bail. White will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/23/21 to answer the charges of 1st Degree Agg. Domestic, False Info, Unlawful Mischief, Possession of Fentanyl, and Possession of Prescription Pills without a Prescription. Jake Tarpley, 32, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Cooke On August 20, 2021 at approximately 1857 hours officer’s were dispatched to a physical altercation occurring in a restaurant parking lot on Putney Rd. Upon arrival officer’s learned that a subject, later identified as Jake Tarpley, 32, of Brattleboro, had engaged in a fight with a subject in the parking lot then fled. At approximately 2210 hours, Tarpley was located on Clark Ave. During that interaction Tarpley fled on foot and resisted arrest. Ultimately, Tarpley was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was lodged. The court was contacted and they ordered conditions of release and ordered Tarpley be held on $200 bail. Tarpley will appear at the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on August 23, 2021 at 1230 hours. Karen Miner, 22, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Cooke On August 13, 2021 at approximately 1837 hours officers from the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a grocery store on Canal St for a suspicious individual in the store. Ultimately, Karen Miner, 22, of Brattleboro left the store without paying for the items in her cart. Miner was issued a citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on September 21, 2021 at 0800 hours to answer to the charge of Retail Theft. Nicholas Lapedota, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
Lt Petlock On 07/06/21, Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Old Ferry Road to investigate a theft that occurred overnight. Numerous tools were stolen from vehicles, with a total value of over $1100.00. Following an investigation into the incident, Nicholas Lapedota was cited for the offense of Grand Larceny. Chelsie Ouellette was also issued a citation for Aiding in the Commission of a Felony. Both were ordered to appear in Windham Superior Court on 09/21/21. Kristofer Curvelo, 46, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Wild On 04/08/21, the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Kristofer Curvelo, a 46 year old male from New York for Unlawful Trespass from a business on Belmont, Ave. Curvelo was ultimately cited and released and is awaiting court. Christopher Baxter, 32, of Brattleboro, VT Officer Wild On 08/04/2021 Brattleboro police conducted a motor vehicle stop due to the suspicion that the operator had a suspended drivers license. The operator identified as Christoper Baxter was found to have a suspended license. Further investigation revealed that Baxter had court ordered conditions of release barring him from operating a vehicle unless he had a valid license. Baxter was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed and released on a citation. Baxter will appear at Windham County Superior Court at a later date to answer his charge. Michael Twichell, 41, of CT
Officer Penniman On 8/4/21 Brattleboro Police responded to Main St. for a theft report. The complaining party advised that they had observed a male in their vehicle, and were now missing belongings. The reporting party advised that they could see the male, as he was still in the area. Police questioned the male; Michael Twichell. Twichell was found to be in possession of the stolen items. When Twichell was advised that he was under arrest, he became disorderly, and yelled hate speech towards the victim. Twichell was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation. Twichell will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 9/21/21 to answer his charge. Shea Soboleski, 30, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Hamilton On July 24 2021 at approximately 0130 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Canal Street for a reported fight. Subsequent investigation revealed that no physical altercation had taken place, but that Shea Soboleski had driven to the business, and her license was criminally suspended. Soboleski was issued a citation and released from the scene. Soboleski is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on August 31 to face the charge of Driving with License Suspended – Criminal. |
