Edward Madigan, 58, of Brattleboro, VT
On October 30, 2019 at approximately 2033 hours, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department located a suspect wanted in New Hampshire for failure to appear in a case of Welfare Fraud.
Edward Madigan was located at his residence on Putney Road, in the Town of Brattleboro and taken into custody without incident. Madigan was cited as a fugitive from justice, held on 10,000 dollar bail, and will appear in the Windham County Criminal Court on October 30, 2019 to face the charge.
Anthony Rivera, 48, of Brattleboro, VT
On 10/28/19 at approximately 1010 hours members of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a local community center for a report of trespassing. The complainant reported Anthony Rivera had been on the property and was previously trespassed.
A records check confirmed Rivera was trespassed from the property on 10/6/19. Rivera was later located and issued a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on 12/3/19 at 0800 hours.
Trevor Winter, 26, of Brattleboro, VT
On 10/16/19, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Valley Rd in the Town of Brattleboro, for a report of a male that was yelling and screaming. The male had left the scene before PD arrival. While on scene, the male returned. He was subsequently arrested for DUI. He was issued a citation to appear at Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division on 11/05/19.
Ryan Cobb, 25, of Brattleboro, VT
On 10/24/2019 at approximately 2347 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on patrol in the area of the Brattleboro parking garage. Officers made contact with the operator of a motor vehicle. The operator was identified as Ryan DL. Cobb.
Further investigation revealed that Cobb was under the influence of alcohol. It was also found that Cobb had a criminally suspended operator’s license and was violating his court ordered conditions to not operate a motor vehicle.
Cobb was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and released. Cobb was issued a citation to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 11/12/2019 to answer to the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Operating with a Criminally Suspended License, and Contempt of Court.
Federick Habich, 52, of Guilford, VT
On 10/24/2019 at approximately 5:28 PM a Brattleboro Police Officer on foot patrol in the downtown area was approached by a local citizen. The citizen reported that she had been a victim of a crime. Investigation revealed that Frederick A Habich (52 of Guilford) had nearly struck the 53 year old woman with his vehicle while she was walking on a sidewalk. The prior night Habich had assaulted the same woman by shoving her to the ground. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries from the night prior incident.
Habich was located and arrested. He was later released to appear at Windham Superior Court on 10/25/2019.
Matthew Brooks, 21, Brattleboro, VT
On August 30, 2019, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded a residence on Main Street, in the Town of Brattleboro, for a late report of assault. Subsequent investigation revealed that Matthew Brooks had violated his conditions of release when he assaulted a male at the Brattleboro Transportation Center.
The male sustained minor injuries and declined treatment. Brooks was cited for Simple Assault and Violation Condition of Release. Brooks will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 11/26/2019 to answer to the charges.
Corey Whidden, 29, Brattleboro, VT
In the morning hours of 10/21/19 Brattleboro Police were called to Green St. for a report of a vehicle versus a bicyclist motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed that Corey A. Whidden, a 29 year old male from Brattleboro, was riding his bike on Green St. Whidden was wearing dark colored clothing, and did not have lights or reflectors on his bike.
Whidden was struck by a vehicle. The operator stopped immediately to render aid. Whidden then threatened and intimidated the operator into giving him financial compensation. Whidden then demanded more money under the threats towards the operator. Whidden fled the scene prior to police arriving.
Whidden was located, and placed under arrest for larceny from a person and extortion. Whidden was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department, where he was lodged briefly, and then released on a citation. Whidden will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 10/22/19 at 1230 to answer his charges.
Whidden received minor injuries.

On 10/20/2019 at approximately 8:13 PM Brattleboro Fire Department and Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a fire at a residence on Canal Street.
The fire appears to have been intentionally started by a subject who has not yet been identified. The fire was quickly contained and there were no injuries. This remains an active investigation. The Brattleboro Police are looking for anyone with knowledge about this incident to please call 802-257-7950.
Cassandra Duff, 38, of Brattleboro, VT
On Ocotber 17, 2019 the Brattleboro Police Dept. received a complaint of a violation of condtions of release stemming from a Domestic Assault that had occurred two months prior in Brattleboro. After an initial investigation Cassandra Duff age 38 of Brattleboro was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Duff was released on conditions and cited to appear in the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on October 18, 2019 at 12:30pm.
Jillian Harden, 38, of Hinsdale, NH
On 10/12/19 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on I91S due to an equipment violation.
Investigation revealed that the operator, Jillian Harden, a 38 year old female from Hinsdale, NH, was impaired via alcohol while operating her vehicle.
Harden was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was processed, and released on a citation. Harden will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 10/29/19 to answer her charge.
