Officer Washburn On November 24, 2021 at approximately 7:10am the Brattleboro Police were dispatched to a single car roll over motor vehicle accident on South St. in Brattleboro. The Brattleboro Fire Dept, Rescue Inc, and Brattleboro Police arrived and found a single occupant with no injuries. During an investigation it was determined that Christopher P. Gates age 23 of Tampa FL. had committed the offense of Driving Under the Influence. Gates was arrested and transported back to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Gates was fingerprinted and photographed and released on a citation to appear at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on December 21, 2021 at 8:00am. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.

Tyler Smith, 32,of Newfane, VT
Officer Abualjadail On 11/23/2021 at approximately 7:00 pm, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a reported assault that occurred on Canal St. in Brattleboro. Investigation revealed that Tyler Smith attacked three people with a mallet. One victim sustained an arm injury, another a stomach injury, and the third a back injury; none of the injuries were life threatening. Smith was cited and ordered to appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/24/2021 to answer to his charges. LT. Petlock On 11/20/21 at approximately 4:05pm, Brattleboro Police responded to Ledgewood Heights for a report of a disturbance. Based on the investigation it was determined that Cecelia Brooner committed the offenses of disorderly conduct, and violating her court ordered conditions of release. She was later located, and issued a citation ordering her to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 12/21/21. Police organizations in New England have been cautioned about the presence of fentanyl-laced marijuana in some states. On 11/20/21 Brattleboro police responded to a report of an overdose. CPR was used and several doses of Naloxone (Narcan) were required to revive the patient. The patient has survived, and no further information will be released regarding their medical status. The patient asserted that they had not used any opiates, and had only smoked marijuana. Officers conducted a field test on the patient’s remaining marijuana and it tested positively for fentanyl. The private smoking of marijuana is legal in Vermont for those aged 21 and older. Users are cautioned to ensure they know the source and history of any marijuana they may consume. Officer Penniman On 11/20/21 in the early morning hours, Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Western Ave. for a registration violation. One of the passengers, Christopher A. Baxter, was found to be in violation of his Court Ordered Curfew. Furthermore, Baxter was found to be in possession of a misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine. Baxter was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was lodged in lieu of bail. Baxter was able to post bail, and was released on a citation. Baxter will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/23/21 to answer his charges. Officer Penniman On 11/18/21 at approximately 2130 hrs Brattleboro Police contacted Sara Moses inside of a vehicle on Maple St. Moses was found to be in violation of her 24 Court Ordered curfew. Probable cause of drug activity was developed, and a search of Moses’ car was commenced. A misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine was located in the vehicle. Moses was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was processed, and released on a citation. Moses will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/23/21 to answer her charges. Officer Washburn On November 15, 2021 the Brattleboro Police were dispatched to a residence on South Main St. for a possible violation of conditions. Officers arrived and after an investigation it was determined that Romeo V. Reome III age 52 Brattleboro was in violation of his conditions of release. Reome was charged with 138 counts of violation of conditions of release. Reome was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Reome was ordered held on $200.00 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on November 16, 2021 at 12:30pm. Sgt. Cable On 11/11/2021 at approximately 11:45 AM Brattleboro Police responded to a report of a fight in progress at a business on Chickering Drive. Responding officers located David Mears inside the business arguing with staff. Subsequent investigation revealed that Mears had engaged in violent behavior at the business. There were no injuries reported. Mears was issued a citation to appear at Windham Superior Court on 12/21/21 to answer to the crime of Disorderly Conduct. Jose Ramirez, 47, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Hamilton On 11/13/21 at approximately 2:10am, Brattleboro Police responded to a convenience store on Canal Street for a report of a robbery. Investigation revealed that Jose A. Ramirez inferred to the clerk that he had a weapon and walked around the counter, taking money from the register drawer. He then prevented the clerk from calling 911 for help, before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash, lottery tickets, and cigarettes. It was later determined that the only weapon that Ramirez had in his possession was a stick. The clerk did not sustain any injuries in the incident. Ramirez was identified through surveillance video and located a hotel nearby, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department in lieu of $10,000 bail, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court on 11/15/21. Jereme Schoff, 34, of Springfield, VT Officer Penniman On 11/12/21 Brattleboro Police responded to the area of Brattle St. for a suspicious complaint. Upon arrival Police contacted Christopher Baxter and Jereme Schoff. Schoff was found to have a Vermont Warrant, and placed under arrest. Baxter was found to be in violation of his Court Ordered Conditions of Release, and placed under arrest. Baxter was processed and released on a citation. Probable cause was developed, and Baxter’s vehicle was seized. A search warrant was applied for and granted. Police located misdemeanor amounts of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine in Baxter’s vehicle.
