Zachary Webster-Burch, 21, of Brattleboro, VT
On 3/28/20 at approximately 5:48 PM Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Clark Street for a report of a family dispute. Investigation revealed that Zackery Webster-Burch (21 of Brattleboro) had assaulted a female family member, causing injury. The victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Webster-Burch was subsequently arrested and held in lieu of $1,000 bail. Webster-Burch is to appear in court on 5/29/20 at 1230 PM to answer to the charges of Domestic Assault, Interference with Access to Emergency Services, 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault and Offense Committed within the Presence of a Child.
Bobby R. Smith, 49, of Brattleboro, VT
On April 23, 2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to an intersection on Canal Street, in the Town of Brattleboro, for a report of a male throwing beer at a female and then pushing her. Subsequent investigation revealed that Bobby Smith was the male who assault the female at that intersection. The female sustained no injuries and refused medical treatment.
While investigating the assault, Officers responded to a business on Canal Street for Smith acting in a disorderly manner. Subsequent investigation revealed Smith resisted arrest when he fought with an officer who had lawfully detained him. Smith also acted in a disorderly manner when he made unreasonable noise in a public place and used abusive and obscene language multiple times.
Smith was cited for Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 07/14/2020 to answer to the charge.
Noah Munday, 19, of Groveland, MA
On March 5 2020 at approximately 2255 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Old Ferry Road for a citizen dispute. Subsequent investigation revealed that Noah Munday had attacked a man in the parking lot of the business. No one sought medical attention as a result of this incident. Munday was later issued a citation for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham County Criminal Division on June 16 to face the charges.
Federick Habich, 52, of Guilford, VT
On 10/24/2019 at approximately 5:28 PM a Brattleboro Police Officer on foot patrol in the downtown area was approached by a local citizen. The citizen reported that she had been a victim of a crime. Investigation revealed that Frederick A Habich (52 of Guilford) had nearly struck the 53 year old woman with his vehicle while she was walking on a sidewalk. The prior night Habich had assaulted the same woman by shoving her to the ground. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries from the night prior incident.
Habich was located and arrested. He was later released to appear at Windham Superior Court on 10/25/2019.
First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Interference with Access to Emergency Services
Emery Wainwright, 24, of Brattleboro, VT
On September 30, 2019 at approximately 2058 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to a residence on South Main St for a reported domestic assault. Subsequent investigation revealed that Emery Wainwright, 24, of Brattleboro had assaulted a family or household member on two separate occasions. Wainwright was later located and arrested. Wainwright was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and later lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility as the court held him without bail. Rescue Inc treated the victim for injuries on scene. Wainwright is due in court on October 1, 2019 at 1230 hours.
Engelhard, Ethan C.T. 22 of Brattleboro
On 6/12/19 at approximately 8:30 PM Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Canal St for a report of a physical altercation. The complainant reported 4-5 persons possibly involved in the altercation, one person was on the ground. One male subject, Ethan Engelhard 22, of Brattleboro was detained on scene with minor injuries and experiencing a mental health crisis. Engelhard was transported to BMH for evaluation.
A female victim of the assault was also taken to BMH to be evaluated for minor non-life threatening injury. The victim identified Engelhard as the subject who struck her causing her injury. Engelhard was medically cleared and taken into custody for assault. He was transported to the Brattleboro Police station where he ordered held until sober. Engelhard was issued conditions of release and a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Courtr, Criminal Division on 6/13/19 at 1230 hours.
Kipamba, Leyeyo S – 21 of Townshend
On 6/6/2019 at approximately 8:02 PM Brattleboro Police received a call for a fight that occurred at a local park. The people involved had left the area but were later located outside of a residence on Marlboro Road.
Responding officers met with two 13 year old females and a male identified as Leyeyo S Kipamba (21 of Townshend). Subsequent investigation revealed that Kipamba had allegedly furnished alcohol and marijuana to both juveniles. Kipamba was issued a citation and released to appear at court on 7/23/19 to answer to the charge of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
Further investigation revealed that the juveniles had engaged in a physical altercation. One of the juveniles was taken into state custody for the delinquent acts of simple assault and unlawful mischief. The juvenile damaged EMS equipment during a transport. The juvenile was later released to a state appointed guardian and is to answer to the charges at a later date and time. The juvenile victim received minor injuries.
Czechorowski, Marina, L. 26 year old female from Dover, VT
On 05/24/2019 Brattleboro Police responded to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for a report of an assault. Through investigation it was discovered that Marina L. Czachorowski assaulted a doctor and a nurse. Neither doctor or nurse received serious injuries. Czechorowski was issued a citation to appear in court on 07/09/2019.
On March 11 2019 at approximately 0030 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Elliot St. for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers met with two men who had sustained injuries. Both were transported from the scene by EMS for non-life threatening injuries.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the two were assaulted by three unknown assailants using a glass bottle. The assailants fled the scene, and have yet to be identified. On 2/11/19 at approximately 0930 hours Officers of the Brattleboro Police department responded to the lobby of the police station for a report of a domestic assault.
Officers met with the female victim who reported she was assaulted her in her home last night. The female victim declined medical attention.
Officer made contact with the assailants, Ashiah Puri, Rama Puri and Balak Puri. All three were taken into custody and transported to the Brattleboro Police station where they were fingerprinted and photographed. All three subjects were issued conditions of release and released on citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 2/12/19 at 1230 hours.
