Assault and Robbery
Jose Ramirez, 47, of Brattleboro, VT
On 11/13/21 at approximately 2:10am, Brattleboro Police responded to a convenience store on Canal Street for a report of a robbery. Investigation revealed that Jose A. Ramirez inferred to the clerk that he had a weapon and walked around the counter, taking money from the register drawer. He then prevented the clerk from calling 911 for help, before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash, lottery tickets, and cigarettes.
It was later determined that the only weapon that Ramirez had in his possession was a stick. The clerk did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
Ramirez was identified through surveillance video and located a hotel nearby, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department in lieu of $10,000 bail, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court on 11/15/21.
Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.
