Carl Warner, 67, of Florence, MA
Officer Penniman On 1/20/22 Brattleboro Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on I91S near exit 3 due to several motor vehicle violations. The operator, later identified as Carl Warner, failed to stop for Brattleboro Police. Due to safety concerns, Brattleboro Police terminated their attempt to stop the vehicle, and issued a Be On The Lookout. Shortly afterwards, Massachusetts State Police were able to stop the vehicle. Warner was placed under arrest by Massachusetts State Police for failing to stop for them. Warner later returned to the Brattleboro Police Department, where he was processed, and issued a citation for Attempt to Elude, along with several Vermont Civil Violation Complaints (Tickets). Warner will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/22/22. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.

Justine Lovig, 54, of Maine
Officer Penniman On 5/20/21 Brattleboro Police responded to a hotel on Putney Rd. for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival Police spoke with the trespasser, who was later identified as Justine Lovig. Lovig continuously refused to leave the property, and refused to identify herself. Lovig then fled in her car after being told she was not free to do so. Officers later located Lovig in her hotel room in West Brattleboro. Lovig was advised she was under arrest. Lovig shut her door, and refused to allow officers to take her into custody. Officers left the scene in order to write up an arrest warrant. Prior to the arrest warrant being written up, Officers were called back to the hotel due to Lovig harassing other patrons. Lovig was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was processed, and released on a citation. Lovig will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 7/6/21 to answer the charges of Attempt To Elude, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Trespass. Jason King, 48, of Bellows Falls, VT
Officer Washburn On 04/28/21 at approximately 2:40pm, Brattleboro Police received a report of a male subject attempting to cut a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the parking lot to a business on Western Avenue. A description was provided of the suspect and his vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the operator on Interstate 91, however he fled into New Hampshire. Officers discontinued pursuit of the vehicle, but in searching the area were able to locate the operator in Chesterfield. The operator, identified as Jason D. King was taken into custody by Chesterfield Police for an unrelated arrest warrant. King was cited for the following offenses by the BPD; Attempted Grand Larceny, Unlawful Mischief, Attempting to Elude an Officer, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 06/15/21. Mark Zostant, 52, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 4/25/21 Brattleboro Police attempted a motor vehicle stop in Brattleboro in the area of the exit 3 rotary for an equipment violation. The operator, later identified as Mark Zostant, a 52 year old male from Brattleboro, refused to stop for the Police in VT, and continued into NH, where he eventually pulled over. Investigation revealed that in order to operate a motor vehicle, Zostant is required to have an ignition interlock device; which was not present in the vehicle he was operating. Zostant was issued a citation for Criminal DLS, along with Attempt to Elude. Zostant was taken into custody by Chesterfield PD due to NH bench warrants. Zostant will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/1/21 to answer his charges. Austin Wood, 18, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 3/19/21 Brattleboro Police attempted a motor vehicle stop on Western Ave. due to a vehicle operating at 65mph in a posted 30mph. The vehicle failed to stop, and due to safety concerns, Police did not pursue. Shortly afterwards the vehicle crashed, and the operator, Austin Wood, an 18 year old male from Brattleboro, was subsequently arrested for DUI. In addition to the DUI charge, Wood was issued a citation for Excessive Speed, Attempt to Elude, and Negligent Operation. Wood will appear in court on 4/27/21 to answer the charges. |
