Sgt. Hamilton On January 29 2022 at approximately 0120 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Belmont Avenue for a disorderly complaint. Staff reported that Kyle Hamilton, who had been trespassed from the business, was there causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers found a physical fight taking place between staff and Hamilton. Hamilton was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Trespass. No one sought medical treatment as a result of this incident. Hamilton was later released with a citation, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on February 22 at 0800 hours to face the charges. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.

Bobby-Ray Smith, 51, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Hamilton On January 13 2022 at approximately 1645 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Main Street for a citizen dispute. Subsequent investigation revealed that Bobby-Ray Smith assaulted a man there by throwing a beer can at him, and used threatening, violent, and racially-charged language towards the man. Smith was located and arrested for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct. Injuries from this incident were minor and did not require medical attention. Smith was issued a citation and conditions and then released. Smith is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on January 14 at 1230 hours to face the charges. Officer Carbone On December 21, 2021 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to an Hotel on Putney Road for a reported physical altercation. Subsequent investigation found that Corey R Hale had entered the premises, acted violently towards staff, and caused damage to property of the Hotel. During the altercation Hale attempted to prevent staff from calling the Police for assistance. Hale was located the following day and taken into custody. Hale is to appear in the Vermont Superior Court: Criminal Division on December 23, 2021, to answer to the charges of Disorderly Conduct, Unlawful Mischief, and Interference with Access to Emergency Services. Officer Penniman On 11/18/21 Brattleboro Police responded to an intersection on Canal St. for a report of a female physically blocking a vehicle. Upon arrival police observed Paige Gale to be blocking traffic, and acting in a disorderly manner. Gale was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct. Gale will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 1/4/22 to answer her charge. Officer Abualjadail On 11/9/21, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated man yelling and using racial slurs in the parking lot of a business located on Putney Rd. Officers arrived on scene and identified Ryan J. Avery as the person of interest. While conducting their investigation police discovered that Avery had an existing warrant for his arrest. As Avery was taken into custody he exhibited tumultuous behavior and directed racial slurs towards on-lookers. Avery was cited for disorderly conduct and hate-motivated crimes and will appear at the Windham County Superior Court on 12/21/21 to answer to his new charges. Officer Abualjadail On 11/23/2021 at approximately 7:00 pm, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a reported assault that occurred on Canal St. in Brattleboro. Investigation revealed that Tyler Smith attacked three people with a mallet. One victim sustained an arm injury, another a stomach injury, and the third a back injury; none of the injuries were life threatening. Smith was cited and ordered to appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/24/2021 to answer to his charges. LT. Petlock On 11/20/21 at approximately 4:05pm, Brattleboro Police responded to Ledgewood Heights for a report of a disturbance. Based on the investigation it was determined that Cecelia Brooner committed the offenses of disorderly conduct, and violating her court ordered conditions of release. She was later located, and issued a citation ordering her to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 12/21/21. Sgt. Cable On 11/11/2021 at approximately 11:45 AM Brattleboro Police responded to a report of a fight in progress at a business on Chickering Drive. Responding officers located David Mears inside the business arguing with staff. Subsequent investigation revealed that Mears had engaged in violent behavior at the business. There were no injuries reported. Mears was issued a citation to appear at Windham Superior Court on 12/21/21 to answer to the crime of Disorderly Conduct. Sarah Darling, 51, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Abualjadail On 10/28/21, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of someone being threatened at 29 Flat St. Investigation revealed that Sarah Darling of Brattleboro, VT had confronted a resident inside an elevator, cursed at them, threatened to fight them, and prevented them from closing the elevator door. Darling was cited on scene and will appear in Windham County Superior Court on 11/30/2021 to answer for her charge. Justin Clough, 41, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Carbone On October 26, 2021, Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Marlboro Road for a reported assault. Subsequent investigation found that Justin E Clough had committed the acts of Simple Assault, Unlawful Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, and Contempt of Court. Clough was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was held in lieu of bail. Clough is to appear in the Vermont Superior Court: Criminal Division on October 27, 2021, to answer to the charges. |
