Tyson Hazelton, 41 of Vernon, VT
Officer Penniman On 10/5/20 Brattleboro Police observed Tyson K. Hazelton, a 41 year old male from Vernon, operating a motor vehicle on High St. Police knew Hazelton to have a suspended license, and also knew that he had court ordered conditions of release to not operate a motor vehicle. Police attempted a motor vehicle stop, and Hazelton fled in his vehicle. Due to the time of day and the vehicular and pedestrian traffic, police discontinued the pursuit. Police later located the vehicle, and Hazelton had fled the scene on foot. Investigaiton revealed that while fleeing from Police, Hazelton had struck another vehicle, and did not stop to render aid or exchange information. Furthermore, it was revealed that a passenger in the vehicle repeatedly asked Hazelton to let them out of the vehicle, and Hazelton refused, putting the passenger in risk of bodily injury. Hazelton was located on 10/14/20, and taken into custody by the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and ordered held on $5,000.00 bail. Hazelton will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 10/15/20 to answer his charges.

Dimas Ocasio, 44, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 9/19/20 Brattleboro Police attempted to stop a vehicle that was operating on South Main St. due to the vehicle’s plates not matching the vehicle, and knowledge that the operator, Dimas Ocasio, a 44 year old male from Brattleboro, does not possess a valid license. Upon initiation of the traffic stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, and travelled through the Central St. neighborhood. Due to concerns for public safety, Brattleboro Police did not pursue the vehicle. The vehicle was later located in a parking lot on Canal St. Police then searched the nearby Lodge, and located Ocasio hiding in one of the rooms. Ocasio was placed into custody, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on court ordered conditions of release. Ocasio was issued a citation for Grossly Negligent Operation and Attempt to Elude, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 9/21/20 to answer his charges. Ocasio was also issued several VCVCs related to this incident. Jonathan Palmisano, 25, of Brattleboro, VT Officer Penniman On 6/19/2020 at approximately 5:08 PM Brattleboro Police, Brattleboro Fire and Rescue Inc responded to a two vehicle crash with injuries on Maple Street. The roadway was closed to traffic during the investigation of this crash. At approximately 5:31 PM while the scene was still occupied by emergency services, witnesses and those involved a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed drove through the scene. The vehicle nearly collided with emergency vehicles and several emergency workers and witnesses on scene. The vehicle crashed on Maple Street a short time later and the operator fled the scene on foot. At approximately 7:22 PM the operator, identified as Jonathan Palmisano, was later located and apprehended near Western Avenue and Guilford Street by Brattleboro Police and Vermont State Police including Vermont State Police K9. Palmisano was held in lieu of $10,000 bail and ordered to appear in court on 6/22/20 to answer to the charges of Gross Negligent Operation, Aggravated Assault (6 counts), Resisting Arrest and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Palmisano was also issued several tickets for civil vehicle operation violations. Jason Moul, 38, of Bellows Falls, VT
Officer Lockerby On 1/18/2020 at approximately 4 PM Brattleboro Police received information and a request for assistance from Vermont State Police regarding a vehicle theft they were investigating. Brattleboro Police located and attempted to stop the vehicle on Putney Road however the operator fled and attempted to elude them by accelerating and passing other vehicles. The vehicle was located unoccupied on Harris Avenue. Brattleboro Police then located the subject in front of a business on Putney Road and apprehended him without incident. Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, Jason Moul (38 of Bellows Falls), had also entered a residence on Putney Road which he was not privileged to be in. VSP took custody of Moul. Moul was held in lieu of $10,00 bail and is to appear in court on 1/21/2020 to answer to charges of Unlawful Trespass into an Occupied Dwelling, Grossly Negligent Operation, Attempting to Elude an Officer and additional charges brought forward by VSP. Multiple other agencies assisted including Chesterfield Police, Windham County Sheriff’s Office and Brattleboro Department of Public Works. Sibilia, Aliester. 40 of Shaftsbury VT.
Officer Winkler & Officer Lockerby On 05/21/2019 at approximately 1:36 am, officers from the Brattleboro Police Department, Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on Marlboro Road in the Town of Brattleboro VT. Upon arrival officers found a passenger car had collided with a tractor trailer head on in the middle of the road. Due to the damage, fluids and position of the vehicles Marlboro Road was closed to traffic for approximately 3 hours. Both operators were uninjured in the crash. The damage to both vehicles was extensive and they were towed away from the scene. Investigation ensued which led to the arrest of Aliester Sibilia for driving under the influence and gross negligent operation. Sibilia was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and released with a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court: Criminal Division on 06/04/2019. Once fluids and debris were cleared Marlboro Road was re opened to traffic. Calabrese, Devan 27 of Brattleboro
Officer Law On February 25, 2019 at approximately 2:59 PM Brattleboro Police responded to a report of a two car motor vehicle crash on Rt. 30. Upon arrival there was two vehicles in the roadway, one of which was overturned on it’s side. Devan Calabrese was the operator of one of the vehicles. Upon further investigation it was found that due to Calabrese’s manner of driving, he had caused the collision. Calabrese was unable to maintain his lane of travel, thus colliding with the other vehicle. All parties involved were transported by Rescue Inc. to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Calabrese was later issued a citation to appear at the Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on June 18, 2019 at 8:00 AM to face the charge of Grossly Negligent Operation. Fisher, Derick. Officer Penniman On 2/2/19 Brattleboro Police observed a vehicle operating in an erratic manner on Canal St. Due to the operation, Police initiated a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle fled from Police, before becoming stuck in the snow on S. Main St. Investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Derick Fisher, a 24 year old male from Brattleboro, was under the influence of alcohol. Fisher was placed under arrest for DUI, Gross Negligent Operation, Attempting to Elude, and for No License. Fisher was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation, along with court ordered conditions of release. Fisher will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/19/19 to answer his charges. Peel, Zachary. G. 32 Year Old Male from Putney, VT
Officer Penniman On 11/7/18 Brattleboro Police observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive rate of speed on Putney Rd, and initiated a motor vehicle stop. Investigation revealed that the operator, Zachary G. Peel, a 32 year old male from Putney, VT was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. It was also determined that Peel’s operation was grossly negligent. Peel was placed under arrest for the above offenses, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, issued a citation, and lodged. Peel will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/7/18 at 1230 to answer his charges. Stone, Nicholas. 46 years old. Brattleboro VT.
Officer Winkler On 7/30/18 at approximately 2220 hours, Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Elliot Street for a report of an intoxicated driver who hit a curb. After an investigation Nicholas Stone was arrested for driving under the influence and grossly negligent operation. Stone was held until sober and released on a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on 8/14/18 at 0800 hours. |
