Meghan Bishop, 35, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 1/22/22 Brattleboro Police observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot shared by both a hotel and a business on Canal St. Investigation revealed that the passenger in the vehicle, Meghan Bishop, was in possession of, and had transported into the State of VT, a felony amount of Fentanyl, along with a misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine. Bishop was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Bishop was processed, and released on a citation. Bishop will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/22/22 to answer her charges. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.

Timothy Carleton, 28, of Bellows Falls, VT
Officer Penniman On 1/2/22 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on I91N near exit 3 due to several motor vehicle infactions. Investigation revealed that the operator, Timothy Carleton, was in possession of a misdemeanor amount of suspected Methamphetamine. Carleton was issued a citation, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 2/1/22 to answer his charge. Officer Penniman On 11/27/21 Brattleboro Police observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Western Ave. Police made contact with the occupant, Traci Beswick. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and probable cause to search Beswick and her possessions was found. Beswick refused consent to search a bag, which was seized. A search warrant for the bag was subsequently requested and granted. In the bag police located approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine, approximately .44 grams of marijuana that field tested positive for the presence of Fentanyl, and approximately 1.75 grams of powder that tested positive for both cocaine and Fentanyl. Police also located several pills that are classified as a Schedule 2 controlled drug. On 11/30/21 Beswick was issued a citation for Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of Cocaine (Felony), and possession of a Controlled Substance. Beswick will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 1/4/22 to answer her charges. Jenel Poulin, 35, of Randolph, VT Michael Wheatley, 53, of Randolph, VT Officer Penniman On 11/20/21 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Western Ave. for a motor vehicle violation. The operator, Jenel Poulin, was found to have a VT Warrant. Poulin was subsequently placed under arrest for the warrant. The other two passengers were identified as Christopher Baxter and Michael Wheatley. Baxter was placed under arrest for Contempt of Court and Possession. This was referenced in a previous press release pertaining to incident 21BB08021. Probable cause was developed, and the vehicle was seized, and a search warrant applied for. A search warrant was granted, and Police located approximately 50 bags of suspected Fentanyl, a misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine, and Schedule 2 pills within the vehicle. Additional possession charges were added on to Baxter’s original arrest for 21BB08021. Wheatley was charged with Possession of Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine, and a Stimulant. A request for a warrant for Poulin’s arrest has been submitted to the court for Possession of Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine, and a stimulant. Wheatley will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 12/28/21 to answer his charges. Jereme Schoff, 34, of Springfield, VT Officer Penniman On 11/12/21 Brattleboro Police responded to the area of Brattle St. for a suspicious complaint. Upon arrival Police contacted Christopher Baxter and Jereme Schoff. Schoff was found to have a Vermont Warrant, and placed under arrest. Baxter was found to be in violation of his Court Ordered Conditions of Release, and placed under arrest. Baxter was processed and released on a citation. Probable cause was developed, and Baxter’s vehicle was seized. A search warrant was applied for and granted. Police located misdemeanor amounts of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine in Baxter’s vehicle. Baxter will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/23/21. Anyone arrested or cited by the Brattleboro police department is presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court. Officer Penniman On 8/22/21 Brattleboro Police responded to a lodging establishment on Canal St. for a reported family fight. Upon arrival Police identified the involved parties, and observed the victim to need medical assistance. EMS was requested, and the female party was transported to the Hospital with serious, non life threatening injuries. It was determined that the male half; Jamie White, had caused serious bodily injury to his female partner. Furthermore, White lied about his identity, and caused damage to property that was not his. During the investigation, probable cause was developed that illegal drugs were in the room. Police executed a search warrant on the room to investigate the potential of illegal drugs in the room, and to gather further evidence for the crime of Domestic Assault. The search warrant yielded a felony amount of Fentanyl, prescription pills, and further evidence in regards to the Domestic Violence charge. White was ordered held in lieu of bail. White will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/23/21 to answer the charges of 1st Degree Agg. Domestic, False Info, Unlawful Mischief, Possession of Fentanyl, and Possession of Prescription Pills without a Prescription. Robert Brennan, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 4/26/21 Brattleboro Police responded to Chestnut St. for a trespassing complaint. Investigation revealed that an intoxicated male, identified as Robert Brennan, a 40 year old male from Brattleboro, forgot where he resided, and attempted to gain entry into a home believing it was his own. No charges for Trespassing were filed. Brennan was found to be in possession of a misdemeanor amount of controlled narcotics. Brennan was issued a citation for possession, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/1/21 to answer his charge. Steven Miller, 34, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Stanley On 4/2/21 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Old Ferry Road to investigate a suspicious report of persons sleeping in a vehicle. Steven Miller- 34 year old male of Brattleboro was identified as one of the occupants of the vehicle. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Miller for being in possession of fentanyl, a controlled and regulated drug. Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed and subsequently cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court on 5/11/21 to answer to the offense. John Mudge, 42, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Cunningham On April 01, 2021, Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Vernon Street, in the town of Brattleboro, for defective equipment, failure to maintain lane, and failure to signal. The operator of the vehicle was identified as John D. Mudge Jr., a 42 year old male from Brattleboro, VT. Subsequent investigation revealed Mudge’s driver’s license was criminally suspended in Vermont, he was violating conditions of release by operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and he was in possession of cocaine and prescription medication that was not his. Mudge was given a new set of conditions of release, cited and released. Mudge will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on April 02, 2021 to answer for the charges. Derek Coleman, 50, of Vernon, VT
Officer Lockerby On 3/24/2021 at approximately 1419 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Canal Street for a suspicious complaint. Officers located the subject and identified him as Derek R. Coleman. Further investigation revealed that Coleman was in possession of Fentanyl. Coleman was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 5/4/2021 to answer to the charge. |
