Det. Lynde On February 2, 2021 Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Putney Road for a possible shooting that had occurred. When police arrived they found there was a gun fired on the property. After an investigation took place police executed a search warrant on February 5, 2021 and multiple guns were seized. Police also arrested Melvin Harris. Harris was cited to court for March 16, 2021 and will answer to the charges of Reckless conduct, Felon in possession of a firearm and Possession of crack cocaine.

Christopher Baxter, 31, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Cable On 11/11/2020 at approximately 6:40 AM Brattleboro Police responded to a report of a suspicious male sleeping in a vehicle off Westgate Drive in Brattleboro. The male was identified as Christopher Baxter. Investigation revealed that Baxter was in possession of crack cocaine. A search incident to arrest yielded additional powder cocaine. Baxter was taken into custody and later released on court ordered conditions and to appear in court on 11/12/2020 at 12:30 PM to answer to the charges of Possession of Cocaine and Criminal Contempt. Dimas Ocasio, 44, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 8/1/20 Brattleboro Police were patrolling a parking lot on Canal St. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle due to a violation. Investigation revealed that the operator, Dimas Ocasio, a 44 year old male from CT, was in possession of a misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine. Ocasio was issued a citation for Possession of Cocaine. Ocasio will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 10/13/20 to answer his charge. Daniel Silverman, 49, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 8/13/20 Brattleboro Police received an anonymous tip in regards to possible drug activity taking place out of an apartment located on Oak St. Police began to patrol the area, and saw Daniel Silverman, a 49 year old male from Brattleboro, act in a manner consistent with criminal activity, and get into a vehicle. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle due to several violations, and made contact with the operator, and the two passengers, one being Silverman. Through the investigation probable cause was developed that Silverman was in possession of narcotics. A search of Silverman was conducted, and Silverman was found to be in possession of misdemeanor amounts of Heroin and Crack Cocaine. Silverman was issued a citation for Possession, and released. Silverman will appear in court on 9/22/20 to answer his charges. Nathan Hazlett, 47, of Brattleboro, VT
Sgt. Hamilton On June 15 2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were granted a search warrant for a residence on Elliot Street based on evidence of drug sales and use inside. At approximately 2000 hours that evening the search warrant was executed, and Nathan E. Hazlett was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and heroin. Hazlett was held in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham County Criminal Division on June 16 at 1230 hours to face the charges. Officer Penniman On 3/8/20 Brattleboro Police were conducting a foot patrol in the Transportation Center on Flat St. Brattleboro Police observed a group of people acting in a manner consistent with drug usage and distribution. Police detained the group, and probable cause was developed. Trent Johnson, a 30 year old male from Brattleboro, declined a search of his person on scene. Johnson was detained, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There, a warrant was drafted, submitted, and approved to search his person and belongings. Johnson was found to be in possession of misdemeanor amount of crack cocaine. Johnson was processed, and subsequently released on a citation for possession of crack cocaine. Johnson will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 4/14/20 to answer his charge. Anthony Rivera, 49, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Llewelyn On 10/11/2019 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department where on directed foot patrol on Flat St. when they came across Anthony M. Rivera. Rivera had his back to the Officer when they came in contact with each other. When Rivera faced the Officer, Rivera was holding a small bag of suspected crack cocaine. Rivera admitted to the substance being crack cocaine. Rivera was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was fingerprinted and photographed. Rivera will appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on 11/26/2019 to answer to his charge. Kenneth Craig, 44, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Hamilton On July 20 2019 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were on foot patrol on Canal Street when they came across Kenneth Craig smoking crack cocaine. Subsequent investigation revealed that Craig was in possession of cocaine. Craig was issued with a citation, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 27 to face the charge. Moffitt, Deven D., 29 of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Washburn On June 6, 2019 at approximately 1444 hours, Brattleboro Police approached Moffitt on Elliot Street regarding an unrelated matter. Prior to Moffitt being taken into custody, Officers saw him drop an item over the fence. The item was recovered and found to contain crack cocaine and prescription medication. Moffitt was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on 6/7/19. James Nestor, 52, of Wardsboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 5/5/19 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle due to an equipment violation. The operator, James D. Nestor, a 52 year old male from Wardsboro, VT was found to have a criminally suspended license. Nestor was also found in possession of Heroin, Crack Cocaine, and Fireworks. Nestor was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation. Nestor will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 6/18/19 to answer his charges. |
