Det. Lynde On February 2, 2021 Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Putney Road for a possible shooting that had occurred. When police arrived they found there was a gun fired on the property. After an investigation took place police executed a search warrant on February 5, 2021 and multiple guns were seized. Police also arrested Melvin Harris. Harris was cited to court for March 16, 2021 and will answer to the charges of Reckless conduct, Felon in possession of a firearm and Possession of crack cocaine.

Philip Patoine, 34, o Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman Over the past several months Brattleboro Police have received numerous complaints in regards to drug activity stemming from a house on Western Ave. On 11/16/20, Brattleboro Police were monitoring this house, when they observed a vehicle leave the residence. The vehicle acted in a highly suspicious manner, acting in a manner consistent with attempting to avoid police conduct. Due to the actions of the operator, along with prior knowledge of the situation that the officer had, reasonable suspicion that illegal activity was present, and officers conducted a motor vehicle stop to investigate. The operator, Philip H. Patoine, a 34 year old male from Brattleboro, provided a false name to law enforcement. Investigation revealed that Patoine’s license was criminally suspended. Investigaiton also revealed that Patoine, a convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm. Patoine was placed under arrest, and the vehicle seized in order to apply for a search warrant. Patoine was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. From there he was released on a citation for Criminal DLS, False information to Law Enforcement, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Patoine will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 11/18/20 to answer his charges. Justin Grover, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Lockerby On 6/18/2020 at approximately 0105 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the parking lot of a business on Canal Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers approached the subject in the vehicle and identified him as Justin M. Grover. Further investigation revealed that Grover was in possession of Fentanyl, a semi-automatic firearm, a large capacity magazine, and ammunition. These items were seized, and Grover was issued a citation for possession of a narcotic and possession of a weapon while committing a crime, and released. Grover is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 to face the charges. Trent Johnson, 30, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Law On 6/11/2020 at approximately 1802 hours the Brattleboro Police Department encountered Trent Johnson and another female parked on the side of South Main Street. Johnson began to walk away from the vehicle when the Brattleboro Police Department pulled up. Johnson was detained at this point and through further investigation and a search of Johnson’s person he was found to be in possession of a firearm. Through further investigation it was found that Johnson was in possession of 20 bags of Fentanyl and 65 bags of crack-cocaine Johnson was arrested and charged with Possession of cocaine, Possession of a depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, Possession of a firearm while committing a crime and Criminal Contempt. Johnson is to appear at the Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 6/12/2020 to face the charges. Chyquan Cupe, 21, of Hartford CT
Peter James, 40, of Brattleboro VT Cornelia Rivera, 50, of Brattleboro VT Det Lynde On December 28, 2018 Brattleboro Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Oak Street after receiving a complaint of an assault that took place on December 25, 2018. It was reported the female victim was forced to fight another person while a male, identified as Chyquan Cupe was threatening her and the person she had to fight with a gun. During the search warrant police recovered multiple guns from the residence. Also found was approximately 220 grams of crack and crack cocaine and several unprescribed drugs to include oxycodone, morphine and amphetamine. At the time Cupe was not at the residence and a warrant has been requested for his arrest for the charges of: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled or regulated drug and contempt of court. Two subjects were arrested at the time of the search warrant: Peter James for possession of crack cocaine Cornelia Rivera for possession of heroin Both were issued citations to appear in court on February 5, 2019. |
