The Brattleboro Parking Department would like to announce the lifting of the winter parking ban. Starting tonight, 4/12/19, at midnight, overnight parking will be allowed on all streets EXCEPT in the downtown area. The following streets are never available for overnight parking:
Elliot Street (from School Street to Main Street)
Canal Street (from the Plaza to #63)

Sarah Mercer, 30, of Brattleboro, VT
On April 7, 2019 at approximately 1630 hours Officer’s from the Brattleboro Police Department were on foot patrol in the downtown business district when they located Sarah L. Mercer, 30, of Brattleboro. Mercer was found to have 2 active arrest warrants in the State of Vermont. Mercer was taken into custody and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where she was lodged for lack of $300 bail.
Rodney Lumbra, 58, of Brattleboro, VT
On 04/01/2019 Brattleboro Police arrested Rodney A. Lumbra for trespassing at the Brattleboro Transportation Center. Lumbra was also found to be in possession of fentanyl.
Lumbra was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. He was released with a citation to appear in court on 05/07/2019.
Patricia Williams, 54, of Brattleboro, VT
On 03/21/2019 Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Main Street for a trespassing complaint. Staff members of the business reported that Patricia M. Williams had slept in the vestibule area of the business over night. Williams had been previously trespassed from the business.
Williams was located at a later date and was issued a citation to appear in court on 05/14/2019.
Bethune, Bobby, -19-Brattleboro, VT
On February 4, 2019 at approximately 2:53PM Brattleboro police recovered a stolen vehicle on Green St. in Brattleboro. The operator was identified as Bobby Bethune (DOB: 03/07/2000). Bethune was also found to be in violation of court ordered conditions of release as he was operating a vehicle. Bethune was arrested for criminal contempt, possession of stolen property, aggravated operation without consent of owner. Bethune was later released and is due to appear in Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division on May 14, 2019.
Whidden, Corey, A. -28- Brattleboro, VT
On March 28, 2019 at approximately 7:50PM Brattleboro police received a call at a downtown business for a theft. Upon arrival police met with Corey Whidden (DOB: 08/18/1990). Through subsequent investigation police determined that Whidden left the business with an item he did not pay for. Whidden was cited for Retail Theft and is due to appear in Windham County Superior Court, Criminal Division on May 7, 2019.
Harvey, Keith, A. 51 year old male of Brattleboro
On 04/01/2019 Brattleboro Police arrested Keith A. Harvey for a violation of an abuse prevention order stemming from an incident that occurred on 03/29/2019. Harvey was placed under arrest and was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Harvey was released with conditions of release and a citation to appear in court tomorrow, 04/02/2019, to answer the charge.
Cote, Matthew. J. 43 Year Old Male from Brattleboro
On the evening of 4/6/19 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 30 due to an equipment violation. The operator, Matthew J. Cote, a 43 year old male from Brattleboro, was found to be operating the vehicle while having a criminally suspended license. Cote’s license is currently under criminal suspension stemming from a prior DUI arrest.
Cote was also found to have active conditions of release stemming from the prior DUI, to include the conditions to not drive a vehicle, not consume alcohol, and to submit to a alcosensor when requested. Cote violated all three conditions.
Cote was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation for Criminal DLS, and Contempt of Court. Cote will appear at the Windham County Superior Court on 5/14/19 to answer his charges.
Keopraseuth, Nikhon. B. 24 Year Old Male from Brattleboro.
During the early morning hours of 3/31/19 Brattleboro Police observed a vehicle operating in an erratic manner on Canal St. A motor vehicle stop was subsequently initiated. The operator, Nikhon B. Keopraseuth, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Keopraseuth was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation for DUI.
Keopraseuth will appear on 4/23/19 at the Windham County Superior Court to answer his charge.
Johnson, Trent W, 29, Brattleboro, VT
On March 29, 2019 at approximately 1715 hours an officer of the Brattleboro Police Department was on foot patrol in the downton business district. The Officer observed a subject known to have an active arrest warrant in the State of Vermont for failing to appear for a court hearing. The subject was identified as Trent W. Johnson, 29, of Brattleboro. Johnson was taken into custody and searched incident to arrest. During that search officers located approximately 1.4 grams of crack cocaine in his possession. Johnson was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was processed for both the warrant and Possession of Cocaine. Johnson posted his bail for the warrant and was released on two citations to appear at the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division. Johnson was cited to appear on April 9, 2019 at 0800 hours for the warrant and May 7, 2019 at 0800 hours for the possession of cocaine
