On May 16, 2020, at approximately 5:00pm, Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department, as well as members of The Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. responded to Motor Vehicle Crash that took place near a business on Marlboro Road in Brattleboro. Due to the severity of the crash both lanes of traffic were shut down from approximately 5:15pm until 6:20pm. The vehicles involved in the crash were a Chevy Cruze and a Honda Motorcycle. The persons involved were Timothy Gerbasi, a 52 year old male from Brattleboro, and Shelley Donald, a 47 year old female from Athol, MA. Gerbasi suffered serious, but non-life threatening, injuries and was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital for treatment. Donald suffered minor injuries and was treated at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
Bruce LaChance, 55, of Brattleboro, VT
On 5/16/2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a report of a family fight at a residence on Putney Road. Subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of Bruce Lachance. Lachance was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. Lachance was released on conditions and will appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on 5/18/2020 to answer to the charge.
Cheryl Ross, 33, of Bellows Falls, VT
On May 14, 2020 at approximately 4:17 PM Brattleboro Police were on foot patrol in the downtown area. Brattleboro Police checked Arch St. where they observed a female sitting underneath the bridge.
Upon further investigation it was found that Cheryl Ross was in possession of crack cocaine. Ross was issued a citation for possession of crack cocaine. Ross is to appear at the Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division at a later date and time.
Reuben Gottlieb, 32, of Brattleboro, VT
On 05/13/20 at approximately 13:18 hours, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Tyler St for a report of a male that was present but had previously been served with a trespass after warning for this location. Upon arrival, it was determined that Reuben J. Gottlieb, 32 of Brattleboro had trespassed on the property. He was issued a citation to appear at Windham County Superior Court, Crimial Division on 07/28/20.
Justin Perdue, 28, of Brattleboro, VT
On 5/11/20 a member of the Brattleboro Police Department observed Justin Perdue, a 28 year old male from Brattleboro, on a property that he had been previously trespassed from on Putney Rd.
Perdue had been trespassed from the property on 5/10/20 stemming from a aggravated disorderly conduct arrest.
Perdue was issued a citation for Unlawful Trespass, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 7/28/20 to answer his charge.
Moment of Silence
Friday 15 May 2020 is National Law Enforcement Officers Day. On Friday at 11:00 hrs, Vermont law enforcement will conduct a moment of silence across our state for Vermont's law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. Officers on patrol in our community will park their vehicles, turn on emergency lights, and render a salute during a moment of silence. Response to necessary calls for service will not be delayed as a result of this event.
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, this event is a way in which we are choosing to acknowledge this solemn day. All of Vermont's fallen law enforcement officers deserve to be remembered and honored for giving their lives while in the performance of their duties. Thank you for your support and please help us commemorate this day!
Elise Nuccio, 26 of Brattleboro, VT
On May 13, 2020, at approximately 1904 hours, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department, while on patrol witnessed Elise M. Nuccio trespassing at a business on Canal Street, in the Town of Brattleboro. Subsequent investigation revealed that Elise M. Nuccio had violated a previous trespass warning, when she was found on the property by the police that day. Nuccio was cited for Unlawful Trespass and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on July 28, 2020 to answer to the charge.
Michelle Carrasquillo, 37, of Brattleboro, VT
On 5/1/20 the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the open field across from Dunkin Donuts on Putney Rd. for a report of an altercation involving a weapon.
Investigation revealed that Michelle Carrasquillo, a 37 year old female from Brattleboro, had attempted physical harm upon her partner with a deadly weapon.
Carrasquillo was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There she was issued a citation for 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. She was released on conditions of release, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 5/4/20 to answer her charge.
There were no injuries to either party.
Kevin Cameron, 55, of Brattleboro, VT
On April 30 2020 at approximately 2200 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on Putney Road for a citizen dispute. Subsequent investigation revealed that on of the parties to the dispute, Kevin Cameron, had an active warrant out for his arrest. Cameron was issued a citation and released, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham County Criminal Division on May 1 to face the underlying charges.
Robert Kerr, 67, of Brattleboro, VT
On 4/24/2020 at approximately 1758 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a business on South Main Street for a report of a single car motor vehicle crash. Officers made contact with the operator who was identified as Robert J. Kerr. Further investigation revealed that Kerr was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Kerr was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was issued a citation and released. Kerr was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 7/14/2020 to answer to the charge.
