Cara Rodrigues, 30, of Wardsboro, VT
Officer Lockerby On December 29, 2020 at approximately 1716 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Canal Street for a defective equipment violation. The operator was identified as Cara L. Rodrigues of Wardsboro, VT. Upon further investigation it was discovered that Rodrigues’s driver’s license was criminally suspended. It was also discovered that Rodrigues violated her court ordered conditions of release in that she operated a motor vehicle when she was ordered not to. Rodrigues was placed under arrest and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where she was fingerprinted and photographed. Rodrigues was issued a citation for Criminal DLS and Violation of Conditions of Release and released. Rodrigues is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 2/2/2021 to face the charges.

Assault and Robbery, Retail Theft, Interference with Access to Emergency Services, Arrest on Warrant1/2/2021 Korbyn Bacon, 25, of Bellows Falls, VT
Officer Carbone On 12/28/2020 at approximately 4:40 AM Brattleboro Police were alerted to a robbery at a local Canal Street business. Responding officers were told that the suspect claimed to have a weapon and that he had fled on foot. A description of the suspect was given and a short time later officers were able to locate him at another nearby business. The suspect was identified as Korbyn Bacon and he was taken into custody without incident. A search ended in locating stolen items but no weapon. Investigation showed that Bacon intimidated a female victim before stealing items within her possession. The victim was not physically injured. Bacon was also found to have an active Vermont arrest warrant. The warrant was issued when Bacon absconded from corrections custody while on probation stemming from a prior conviction of Assault and Robbery. Bacon was held in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in court on 12/28/2020 to answer to the above charges. Cecelia Brooner, 23, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Lockerby On December 27, 2020 at approximately 1542 hours, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a motel on Putney Road for a threatening complaint. Subsequent investigation revealed that Cecelia M. Brooner violated her court ordered conditions of release in that she had contact with a male that she was not allowed to. Brooner was placed under arrest and was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department where she was processed, temporarily lodged, issued a citation and conditions and released. Brooner was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 12/28/20 to answer to the charge. Robert Covey, 60, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Cunningham On December 25, 2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on Flat Street, in the Town of Brattleboro, for a report of a male assaulting a female. Subsequent investigation revealed Robert Covey had committed the offense of Simple Assault when he kicked and elbowed a female that day. The female suffered a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital. Covey was cited for Simple Assault and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 02/02/2021 to answer to the charge. John Whelan, 71, of Dummerston, VT
Officer Cunningham On December 24, 2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department, received information there was a possible operator of a vehicle driving while under the influence who had crashed into another vehicle on Black Mountain Road. The officers found the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Black Mountain Road. Subsequent investigation revealed John Whelan, the operator of the vehicle, was under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle and left the scene of an accident without providing his information. Whelan was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation. Whelan will appear at Windham County Superior Court on January 12, 2021 to answer for the charge. Corey Hale, 34, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Penniman On 12/24/20 Brattleboro Police responded to a residence on Landmark Hill Dr. for a report of a male; Corey Hale, a 34 year old male from Brattleboro, who was threatening a resident there after they caught him urinating in public. While in route, Police were then advised that Hale and another male were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene, and Hale became physically aggressive towards officers. After an investigation, Hale was issued a citation for one count of Disorderly Conduct, and one count of Aggravated Disorderly Conduct. Hale will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 1/26/21 to answer his charges. Jodi Ecklund, 38, of Newfane, VT
Officer Fletcher On 12/23/20 at approximately 11:36 AM Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a grocery store for a report of a shoplifting incident. The store employee who reported the incident advised the female shoplifter has since left the scene and provided a vehicle description and registration number. Officers made contact with the complainant who advised they had recovered the stolen merchandise. The store provided the security video of the incident and a receipt showing the value for the stolen items. The vehicle was located by a member of the Windham County Sheriff’s Department and the female was identified as Jodi L. Ecklund of Newfane VT. Ecklund was issued a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 1/26/2021 Justin Clough, 41, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Lockerby On 12/18/2020 at approximately 1927 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to an Inn on Putney Road for a report of an assault. Officers located the suspect and the victim and obtained statements. The suspect was identified as Justin E. Clough. Further investigation revealed that Clough had assaulted the victim. No life threatning injuries were sustained. Clough was issued a citation for Simple Assault and is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on January 26, 2021 to face the charge. Shaquran Holcomb, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Fletcher On 12/23/20 at approximately 12:45 PM Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence for a report of a male subject threatening individuals with a knife. Upon arrival officers made contact with the subject, Shaquran A. Holcomb of Brattleboro. Brattleboro Police dispatch advised Holcomb had an active warrant for his arrest. After multiple witnesses and victims were interviewed it was determined Holcomb had threatened bodily harm while brandishing a switchblade knife. There were no reported injuries. Holcomb was taken into custody and processed for the warrant and new offenses. Holcomb was held on $5,000 bail. He was issued a citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division on 12/24/2020 at 1230 hours. Christopher Timmons, 25, of Brattleboro, VT
Officer Llewelyn On 12/19/2020 Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department and Vermont State Police responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Upper Forest St. Upon arrival Officers saw many neighbors in the street and a victim needed help at a nearby home. The victim said Christopher Timmons was inside the home, is high on drugs, and is bleeding from an injury that was self-inflicted. Officers located Timmons in the residence and needed to use force to get him to become compliant. Timmons was taken to BMH where he was treated for non-life-threatening wounds. The victim in the case did not require medical attention. Timmons was later issued a citation to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on 1/26/2021 to answer to the charges of DC, Resisting arrest, Simple Assault and Possession of LSD. Timmons was then released. |
