Justin Grover, 40, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/18/2020 at approximately 0105 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the parking lot of a business on Canal Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers approached the subject in the vehicle and identified him as Justin M. Grover. Further investigation revealed that Grover was in possession of Fentanyl, a semi-automatic firearm, a large capacity magazine, and ammunition. These items were seized, and Grover was issued a citation for possession of a narcotic and possession of a weapon while committing a crime, and released. Grover is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 to face the charges.
Justin Perdue, 28, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 13, 2020 at approximately 1300 hours Officers from the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to a business on Canal St. for a theft. Subsequent investigation found that Justin J. Perdue, age 28 from Brattleboro had stolen a wallet. Perdue was arrested for two counts of Petit Larceny, Trespassing and two counts of attempted Larceny. Perdue is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 at 0800 hours to answer to his charges.
Jonathan Palmisano, 25, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/19/2020 at approximately 5:08 PM Brattleboro Police, Brattleboro Fire and Rescue Inc responded to a two vehicle crash with injuries on Maple Street. The roadway was closed to traffic during the investigation of this crash.
At approximately 5:31 PM while the scene was still occupied by emergency services, witnesses and those involved a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed drove through the scene. The vehicle nearly collided with emergency vehicles and several emergency workers and witnesses on scene. The vehicle crashed on Maple Street a short time later and the operator fled the scene on foot.
At approximately 7:22 PM the operator, identified as Jonathan Palmisano, was later located and apprehended near Western Avenue and Guilford Street by Brattleboro Police and Vermont State Police including Vermont State Police K9. Palmisano was held in lieu of $10,000 bail and ordered to appear in court on 6/22/20 to answer to the charges of Gross Negligent Operation, Aggravated Assault (6 counts), Resisting Arrest and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Palmisano was also issued several tickets for civil vehicle operation violations.
Cara Rodrigues, 29, of Wardsboro, VT
On 6/19/2020 at approximately 1708 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Maple Street for a report of a two car motor vehicle crash. Further investigation revealed that Cara L. Rodrigues was operating a 2003 Toyota Camry when she crossed the yellow line and crashed into a 2013 Honda Odyssey. It was also discovered that Rodrigues was under the influence of alcohol and had a juvenile passenger in her vehicle. A section of Maple Street was closed down from approximately 1714 hours to approximately 1835 hours. The operator of the Honda Odyssey was transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Rodrigues was placed under arrest, issued a citation and released. Rodrigues was ordered to appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 8/11/2020 to answer to the charges.
Betty Bashaw, 53, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/14/20 Brattleboro Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Market 32 parking lot for an equipment violation.
The operator, Betty Bashaw, a 53 year old female from Brattleboro, was found to have a criminally suspended license.
Bashaw was issued a citation for Criminal DLS, and will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/11/20 to answer her charge.
Buck Mitchell, 28, of Brattleboro, VT
On 6/12/20 Brattleboro Police responded to a business on Putney Rd. for a disorderly male that had been caught shoplifting.
Upon arrival, investigation revealed that Buck Mitchell, a 28 year old male from Brattleboro, when confronted for shoplifting, acted in a disorderly manner.
Furthermore, Mitchell was violating a court ordered curfew.
Mitchell was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and contempt of court for violating his curfew. The store did not wish to press charges for the shoplifting.
Mitchell was transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. There he was processed, and released on a citation for the above offenses. Mitchell will appear at Windham County Superior Court on 8/11/20 to answer his charges.
Jared Butler, 43, of Putney, VT
On May 29, 2020, officers of the Brattleboro Police Department excuted a search warrant on a vehicle that was used in a suspected drug deal. Subsequent investigation revealed that Jared Butler, a 43 year old male, had fentanyl in his possession while operating the vehicle. Butler was cited and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on 08/11/2020 to answer to the charge.
Bernard Jacobs, Jr, 39, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 14 2020 at approximately 0300 hours officers of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a residence on High Street for a reported family fight. Upon arrival the officers encountered Bernard Jacobs Jr. and several others, and Jacobs Jr. became disorderly, impeding officers’ abilities to conduct their investigation. Jacobs Jr. was placed under arrest, and subsequently resisted arrest. No one sought medical attention as a result of this incident.
Jacobs Jr. was transported to the department and later released with conditions and a citation. Jacobs Jr. was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Impeding Public Officials, and Resisting Arrest, and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham County Criminal Division on June 15 to face the charges.
Timothy Shepard, 39, of Guilford, VT
On June 13, 2020, Officers of the Brattleboro Police Department, were on patrol on Putney Road, in the town of Brattleboro, and conducted a motor vehicle stop for speed. Subsequent investigation revealed Timothy Shepard, the operator of the vehicle, had a criminally suspended driver’s license. Shepard was arrested and transported to The Brattleboro Police Department for processing. Shepard was released on a citation for driving with a criminally suspended license, and will appear in Windham County Superior Court: Criminal Division on August 11, 2020 to answer for the charge.
Nathan Hazlett, 47, of Brattleboro, VT
On June 15 2020 officers of the Brattleboro Police Department were granted a search warrant for a residence on Elliot Street based on evidence of drug sales and use inside. At approximately 2000 hours that evening the search warrant was executed, and Nathan E. Hazlett was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and heroin.
Hazlett was held in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court: Windham County Criminal Division on June 16 at 1230 hours to face the charges.
