On Friday August 31, 2018 Members of the Brattleboro Police Department, Vermont State Police, Wilmington Police Department, and the Windham County Sheriff’s Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Putney Road. The checkpoint was conducted as part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program national Labor Day campaign. Over the course of a 3 hour period, officers made contact with approximately 500 motorists. Several operators were screened for alcohol or other impairment, however no arrests were made.
